Confined Space Consulting

Confined Space Awareness Course

Confined Space Consultancy

Confined spaces can be found in almost all industry sectors.

However, due to the wide variety of potential hazards faced, no two spaces are the same, and nor should they be treated as such.

Even with the amount of Confined Space legislation and the advanced technology available, fatal accidents are still occurring. On average there are 15 deaths a year in the UK alone, making Confined Space entry a real issue for industry.

Being able to identify an environment as a Confined Space is not easy, but is of vital importance – if we don’t recognise it as a Confined Space, then we won’t treat it as one, and won’t put adequate control measures in place.

We have a team of Health and Safety Consultants covering a range of industries, with a diverse background - experts who can help you identify these areas, and the hazards and risks associated with them. We can then provide you with practical solutions to enable work to be carried out safely.

Once the confined space has been recognised, and categorised to reflect its risk rating, we can provide you with:

  1. Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work,
  2. Confined Space Policies and Procedures,
  3. Confined Space Classification,
  4. Emergency Procedures, along with advice on equipment needed,

The Water Industry has, for a long time, had its own classification for confined spaces, (reference Water UK OGN), which sets a benchmark countrywide. But for a lot of industries, this classification is not relevant or applicable to the environments they enter. Our consultants have a vast knowledge of all aspects of confined space work across varied industries, and so can advise on producing your own classification system, which will be tailored for your specific confined space, work being undertaken, inherent and introduced hazards and risks.
