Safety Training

Safety Training

Under legislation – Health and Safety at Work Act, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations etc., Companies must provide training and instructions to their employees to ensure that they are able to carry out their tasks safely and without risks to health. Good and effective training can reduce workplace incidents and accidents, which in turn promotes a healthier, safer and happier workplace. It also has the benefit of reduced costs, and fewer potential lawsuits.

For training to be effective, it must be relevant to the task at hand, be presented in such a way that the students are able to easily understand and absorb, and for that information to be maintained – not forgotten the minute they walk out of the classroom.

At PPS Environmental, we have a team of highly qualified and experienced Consultants spread across the country, all having excellent hands-on knowledge and experience from a range of industrial backgrounds, giving us the ability to deliver a wide range of Training services nationwide. We try and deliver them in a way that gives some kind of realism or meaning to the students, so will try and tailor the courses to meet their specific requirements, rather than being an ‘off the shelf’ standard course.

We have a varied client base, across a number of sectors, including Petroleum – both refineries and forecourts, Construction, Confined Space and Asbestos industries.

The courses combine the requirements of current Health and Safety Legislation, but we can tailor them to include any specific Company Health and Safety Policies or Procedures that may be in place.

All of the courses involve both theoretical and practical aspects, where applicable.

The range of courses that we provide include:

  1. Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
  2. Display Screen Regulations (DSE)
  3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  4. Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
