Construction Site Auditing

PPS Environmental is a leading Health and Safety Consultancy, based in Milton Keynes.

We have a team of highly qualified and experienced Consultants spread across the country, all having excellent hands-on knowledge and experience, giving us the ability to deliver a wide range of Consultancy, Auditing and Training services nationwide.

We have a varied client base, in a number of sectors, including Petroleum – both refineries and forecourts, Construction, Confined Space and Asbestos industries.

Due to the range of industrial backgrounds covered by our Consultants, we are able to undertake Site Safety Audits for a wide range of sectors.

Many Clients are now choosing to utilise external Safety Consultants to perform independent site health and safety inspections and audits.

These inspections and audits provide reassurance and peace of mind to the Client that the work on their projects is being carried out in accordance with Legislation, but also that best practices are being employed.

They are an opportunity for Principal Contractors and any sub-contractors to demonstrate their ability to follow their Risk Assessments and maintain their Safe Systems of Work.

Our inspections and audits include undertaking a thorough site visit, which is generally unannounced unless the Client decided otherwise.

During the audit process, a report is generated – this is usually using either a excel spreadsheet audit form, with pre-arranged sections and questions from the Client, or using iAuditor software, again with pre-populated questions, which automatically generates a report. This latter method has the benefit that analytical information can be extracted from the reports, giving the ability to recognise trends etc. The report is then sent to the Client, and whoever else they decide needs to be included, such as the Principal Contractor, Site Manager etc. and will identify any issues or shortcomings that need improvement.

We like to build strong relationships with Principal Contractors and Site Managers, so that we can support them in maintaining and improving best practices on site.
